Moderately difficult ski route on one of the most striking mountains of the Bregenzerwald (ZS-).
The Kanisfluh is one of the best-known peaks of the Bregenzerwald; numerous hotels and guesthouses bear its name. The nearly 1300-meter steeply falling north face impresses mightily from both below and the summit. From the south, Kanisfluh is accessible via a moderately steep grassy slope. In summer, it is an easy mountain hike (T2), in winter a challenging ski route (ZS-) where confident mastery of switchbacks and low avalanche risk are mandatory in the summit slope. Apart from the summit slope, the route is easy; the forest descent of the signposted ski route can be bypassed via the alpine trail to the Edelweiss Alpine guesthouse.
