A beautiful ski tour that offers a wonderful view of Mandl- and Keeskogel and the Hohe Tauern at the summit. This tour is not suitable for beginners as the track in the area of the "Geißmahdloch" is often icy and therefore very exhausting. For this reason, the tour requires skill, strength, and stamina. This also applies to the descent!
Crampons therefore count as basic equipment for this ski tour!
This tour is doable from early winter to spring, provided there is sufficient snow cover. In bad weather, it is better to avoid this tour.

The ascent begins at the car park (LVS checkpoint) on the goods road to Pertillhof, turning right shortly after a chapel and climbing across a beautiful meadow to a farm track. The official hiking trail leads to Modereggalm. From the hut, it goes straight over beautiful slopes to the final climb, which requires good switchback technique — be cautious of cornices and drift snow in the last section!
