From the parking lot in Goslitz, first follow a forest road gently ascending along the Goslitzbach. Past the Stefansbergalm, the path finally ascends a bit more steeply through a forest up to the Holzeralm. From there, you can already see on the right the steep ascent into the Holzerkar, which you reach after many hairpin turns between dwarf pine fields.
