Hockenhorn

This ski tour leads on the sunny side of the Lötschental to the first summit of the ridge chain between Lötschenpass and the Jungfrau area. Thanks to the Lauchernalp ski area, there are comfortable ascent options and numerous descent variations. This route leads via the Lötschenpass hut to the foot of the Hockenhorn. The last two kilometers of the approach to the Lötschenpass hut and the crossing past the Hockenhorn to the top station of the Hockenhorngrat are usually groomed (info can be found on the Lötschenpass hut homepage). Alpine experience is needed for the summit spike ascent with crampons. Afterwards, a long run follows over the wide quiet pistes back to Lauchernalp. Along the way, you can stop at the scenic Lötschenpass hut or after the tour at Lauchernalp.
