Challenging route via the Schluppesalm and the steep summit slope to the Hochplattspitze in the Wipptal
You follow the forest road flat upstream in the valley. There is the option to ascend from the valley floor (1625 m) via a steep ridge between two stream gullies directly to the Schluppesalm (1825 m). At the alm, head southeast towards a rounded summit. To the left of this is a small saddle (2050 m). Along the left edge of a hollow upstream and slightly left of steep terrain with moderate slope up to below the large summit slope (2300 m). This slope becomes increasingly steep, is unstructured, and only feasible under absolutely safe conditions. Best to stay along the left edge until at 2450 m you traverse diagonally right, very steep (40–45°), onto a small ledge (2470 m). Continue steeply up to the ridge (2510 m). If not already done further below, leave skis here. Over the narrow ridge to the right to the summit with a cross. Impressive views deep into the Wannser and Ontrattal valleys.
