Roadbook
To the ridge normal path to Randegger Hochkogel:
From the starting point uphill, leave the first farmhouse on the left, pass the following two houses on the right. Continue straight uphill until the ridge is reached.
Now keep slightly left and head gently ascending to the right forest edge. Here we meet the Hochkogel circular hiking trail, which we follow to the Gruber Cross.
We take off skins and start the descent eastwards. We ride towards the first farmhouse (corner), pass the farmhouse on the left, and continue downhill to the forest edge.
Here we put skins back on and climb diagonally left (NW direction), continuing on a farm track over a pasture always pleasantly ascending until we reach the ridge between Randegger Hochkogel and Gruber Cross.
Continue to the cross and to the radio hut on the Hochkogel.
Descent from Hochkogel: Best a few meters east of the radio hut onto the northern pasture, then eastwards to the ascent route and follow it back to the starting place.
Or variant: start towards northwest. At the first farmhouse (right wildlife enclosure) near the game fence straight down onto open alpine meadows. Any fences are usually left open in winter. At the end of the open meadows turn left on a path through a ditch onto an open meadow. From there down to the Grub farmstead and on the road to the parking lot.
Directions
