Roadbook
Either on the road (on foot?) or on the left parallel to it in the forest up to the Naturfreundehaus Kolm-Saigurn. Just behind it, the classic ascent to Sonnblick begins. This is followed over the forested steep section and over an inclined gully to a flattening. Here you leave the main path to the left and first climb in a few switchbacks over a steep slope and then in beautiful hollows to the new Naturfreundehaus building. Just behind the building, two ascents to the Fraganterscharte are offered:
1.) To the left, the summer path leads over a rocky ridge called Hoher Goldberg, first steeper, then with a pleasant incline below the summit rocks. Here you now cross over moderately steep wide slopes clearly above the rock faces to the right (south) and climb eastward in a large left arc to the Fraganterscharte.
2.) The rocky ridge (Hoher Goldberg) is crossed flat and then slightly descending, descending into a large flat basin. Straight ahead continues to the Sonnblick ascent, if you turn left, you will see a large steep gully, the so-called Wintergasse. This is approached; a first steep slope leads into the stepped broad gully, which shortly before its upper steep end is left over a steep slope to the left. A few meters higher, the Fraganterscharte is then reached.
The summit ascent can now be tackled either on the broad and steep south ridge or, with stable snow conditions, over the quite steep southwest flank. The summit is marked with a signpost and a nameplate.
The descent is along the ascent routes either via the summer path (beautiful open slopes) or via the Wintergasse (moderately steep broad gully). A steep descent directly from the summit into the Bräuwinkel with a counter-ascent to the Riffelscharte with the Niedersachsenhaus and descent over steep slopes down to Kolm Saigurn would be an interesting alternative.
