Diepolz - Höfle-Alpe - saddle - Hauchenberg East - viewing platform Alpkönigblick - Hauchenberg Cross - Hauchenberg - Hauchenberg Cross - descent to Kapellenweg - Börlas. Return by footpath along the road, 20 minutes uphill to the starting point in Diepolz (or bus 82, if it is running, or second car).

    Author’s recommendation

Rest at or near the viewing platform Alpkönigblick, also highly recommended by the cross at Hauchenberg in very nice weather, due to the beautiful Alpine view.

    Roadbook

In Diepolz there are some cleared parking spaces near the mining museum, which are shared with numerous snowshoers. The ascent is identical with the main ascent of the snowshoers. After the Höfle-Alpe, there is an alternative, equally long ascent option to the left via the Klings Hut to Alpkönigblick. At the waypoint Hauchenberg East, most of the ascent is behind us; the ridge walk to Alpkönigblick begins. Here are the first two descent options directly to Diepolz via the Klings Hut or to Börlas. Further west along the ridge, you reach a cross in a few minutes (third descent option to Börlas, used in the GPS track). Further west along the ridge to Hauchenberg leads to two more descent corridors to Börlas. The descent options are indicated as bends in the GPS track.

When descending from the cross, it is recommended to unclip for about 100 meters upon reaching the Kapellenweg, which is usually cleared anyway, before going a few meters uphill by the farm on the left to the next meadow, from which the destination, the Diepolz - Börlas road, is already visible.
