The last slope below the summit structure is the avalanche-critical key section. The summit structure generally requires the use of crampons; an ice axe can provide additional safety.Tips and suggestions

Roadbook
From the Boden fire station, you first cross open meadow terrain to the alpine settlement "Ebele." Then you follow the summer trail roughly into the Fundoastal; unfortunately, there are also some meters of descent.
We follow the valley over two steeper steps roughly southward to a notch west of the Brunnkarspitze – Brunnkarjöchl 2,510 m elevation. On the south side, we traverse to the summit slope. At the notch before the summit structure, we leave the skis behind and reach the fore-summit, which is somewhat exposed but not difficult.
To reach the main summit (with a beautiful cross), we have to briefly descend into a gully and then ascend steeply about 10 meters along a ridge. The difficulty in this section is at grade SG II- in mixed terrain.
The descent follows the ascent route.
On the descent at about 1,600 m elevation, climb again along the summer trail – a short re-skinning pays off. Another descent along the Fundoasbach is mostly a struggle.
