Greater Kinigate

Ascent: From the car park, with a slight loss of altitude, walk along the road towards the south into the Erschbaumer Tal valley, first along the Langlaufloipe trail further into the valley until you reach the Güterweg. Continue slightly uphill to the end of the valley. Keep slightly to the left and reach the Tscharrhütte, 1935 m, via a steep slope. After this, cross in a south-easterly direction under the north walls of the Gro&szlig Kinigat through an impressive high cirque up to the Hintersattel, 2406m. Now traverse in a south-westerly direction, finally through a small valley to the Filmoorsattel, 2453 m. From there, continue under the snow walls in a north-westerly direction, very steeply to the snow ramp of the normal ascent. Ski depot here! Via the steep ramp (insurances, in summer a short via ferrata, in high winter covered by snow) up to the summit rocks and finally from the west to the summit. Descent: Same as ascent.
