Goldeck & Seetalnock "Sun Round Medium"
Exceptionally beautiful and sun-drenched round tour - for all slightly advanced and ambitious ski tourers who want to improve their uphill and downhill technique a little!
This somewhat extensive circuit is also excellent for sporty young people, ambitious returnees, and active seniors who already have some experience and now want to venture into open terrain!
The first ascent along the perfectly groomed winter hiking trail – up to Goldeck – is a gentle 250 meters of elevation gain and manageable without any difficulty!
Then you remove your skins for the first time and descend along the "Bärnbiss" piste to the valley station.
Now you put skins on again, followed by the somewhat trickier part of this circuit - the second ascent up Seetalnock involves about 650 meters of elevation gain!
However, the ski technical difficulties are rather low even here; the somewhat steeper climb to the right of the valley station of the Gipfellift is perfect for practicing so-called kick turn technique! Here the slope is around 30°, so kick turns are essential in this terrain!
In the area of the "Eggeralm" the slope eases again, the last 300 meters to the summit of Seetalnock are pure enjoyment!
The last descent over the south-east slopes of Seetalnock requires increased caution. The entry into this slope briefly reaches steepness over 30° - the line should be chosen carefully! The descent is very inviting and quite safe with reasonably good track choices and conditions.
Thus, a scenic and panoramic ski touring loop emerges, especially recommended for dedicated recreational ski tourers. But also for people who prefer the safety of nearby infrastructure and immediate piste proximity, this circuit is recommended!
This route can be done throughout the winter; absolute beginners should definitely prefer safe conditions.
The touring season in this area lasts quite long – due to the fairly high starting point this stimulating loop is often accessible from December well into April!
In the Goldeck ski area the symbiosis between touring skiers, alpine skiers, and lift operators is still fully intact (status 01/2022).
Ascending next to the piste is still tolerated without any use or parking fees for tourers!
Based on the internationally used five-part difficulty scale according to TOPONEIGE (I=easy / II=moderately difficult / III=difficult / IV=very difficult / V=extremely difficult), the ski technical and mountaineering requirements of this tour are rated I-II.

Basically quite a safe ski tour, ideal for the slightly advanced ski tourer with the fitness for a total of 3 hours of ascent.

Tips and suggestions
A visit to the cozy Wieser Hut is definitely worthwhile; it has meanwhile become a popular stopover for "young and old"!
Roadbook
Start from the Seetal parking lot, directly at the newly built Wieser Hut or at the parking lot directly at the Goldeck road, about 200m above the hut.
The ski tour leads – without orientation problems – along the basically groomed ascent path directly to Panorama Alm.
There, keep right and continue ascending northeast toward the summit of the Goldeck sports mountain, already visible from afar.
At the scenic summit, skins are removed and you descend westward over wide pistes to the valley station of the "Bärnbiss" lift.
Here you put skins on again and ascend via the right branch along the piste edge. 150 meters below the Zwergerlhut, you again take the right branch; shortly after, the valley station of the "Gipfellift" is reached.
Cross the piste to the right edge. Here, slightly steeper (just over 30°) climb through a channel-like hollow until alpine pasture ground is reached. From there, always right of the piste, ascend the mostly tracked slopes of the Eggeralm with moderate steepness up to Seetalnock.
The following descent offers alpine flair and leads along somewhat steeper south-east slopes toward the Wieser Hut. Then shortly back to the starting point in Seetal.
The idyllic Wieser Hut invites you to linger and relax afterwards!
