Gartnerkofel and Garnitzenberg
The tour runs on pistes in the lower part, while the crossing away from the FIS lift and the south slope are potentially avalanche-prone.
There are many variation possibilities if there is enough snow.

Safety information
The south slope of the Gartnerkofel can sometimes be very hard, do not forget crampons. Too soft later in the day.Roadbook
Parking is optionally possible at the Trögl ski area or, if there is no snow there, higher up at the Kärnten house. Then follow the FIS descent to the top station of the FIS lift. Avoid crossing too high into the hollow and reach the summit slope after a narrow stretch. Either keep right or go over the left chute, which usually leads just below the summit. Ski depot and a few meters to the summit. Descent to the FIS top station, then follow the FIS lift down and cross to the family run. Continue along the forest road until you see the summit hollow of the Garnitzenberg. Here, skins are put on again and you can ski to the summit. Now there are several options depending on snow conditions. Either go down the hollow again and cross to the family run or follow the ridge to the Kleine Auernig (the neighboring summit) and ski down the north slopes (only if avalanche conditions are safe). Here too, you return to the family run and follow it back to the car.
