One of our favorite huts! The route goes wonderfully uphill through the forest. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of the Tennengebirge and the Hochkönig massif.
The route starts leisurely from the Dielalm. You can choose between a steeper path or the forest road at the bottom. The hut keeper makes a track with his snow groomer. From mid-height, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. At the top, the Ostpreussenhütte is a very lovingly managed hut. Many locals go up just for the good food! Highly recommended!
The only drawback of the route: the descent is not so nice. At the top, you can still ski down some slopes, but then the descent mostly goes through the forest on the snow groomer track. You also have to walk up about 100 meters in altitude again.

From St. Johann: Drive on the motorway towards Salzburg, take the Werfen exit and drive towards Hohenwerfen Castle (turn right after the bridge). Just before Hohenwerfen Castle, turn left uphill towards Dielalm. Drive the road up to the Dielalm. There is a large parking lot there. Warning: the last part of the road can be slippery.Parking
