With the right choice of conditions, you can ski down the south-facing summit slope in firn and then experience a powder dream in the Schafkar.

    Author’s recommendation

For fit ski mountaineers, the Tauberspitze with its somewhat more alpine character is still worthwhile afterwards.

    Roadbook

From the parking lot at the L21, walk about 150 m towards Stanzach and then immediately follow a steep hollow path through the forest into the Schafkar. At the end of the cirque, the terrain steepens up to an edge. We first turn flat to the right. Then it goes steeply – on the upper part to the left – to the ski depot.

Over a short upslope, which sometimes requires crampons, we reach the flat ridge that leads easily to the summit – without a cross.

The descent takes place along the ascent route.
