Fantastic ski tour amid South Tyrol's biggest mountain peaks - from the Martell Valley to the Butzenspitze in the Ortler region.
From the car park, take the right-hand path to the Zufallhütte (sign). South of the hut through a narrow hollow and over two corners to the left into the shallow valley. Past the dam wall on the right and flat into the large valley floor. Just above a narrow part of the stream on the left, continue into the next flat valley floor. The Butzental branches off to the right. Up through a steep hollow on the right. Turn left through depressions into the basin below the Butzenspitze and to the beginning of the steep slope. Climb this up to the east shoulder, 3240 m. Possibly a ski depot here. Continue over the long and partly narrow ridge to the broad summit peak far behind. Watch out for cornices on the Suldner side. Descent as ascent.
