Easy and safe route along forestry roads to a simple summit plateau.Tips and suggestions
Gasthof Zinkenbachmühle, www.zinkenbachmuehle.atRoadbook
We follow from the arboretum the very flat forest road into the Zinkenbach valley. After about 1.5 km, we turn right following the signpost "Breitenberg" and cross the brook. The alpine road now ascends through the forest; at the first clearings, we turn right across the alpine meadows towards Adamalm. Just below the building, we follow the forest road to the right and climb a bit steeper through the forest past Primushöllrinn on the left to the meadow slope at Zinkenbachhöllrinn. From there, the forest road leads again through the forest to a road junction on a broad saddle. Here we continue uphill to the left to the signpost "Breitenberg." Slightly downhill to the alpine valley, then in a gentle traverse up to the idyllic Breitenberg alpine pastures. The somewhat steeper slope above the huts is traversed to the left; in a gentle right bend, we then reach the broad summit plateau, which we follow flat to the west to the wooden summit cross.
Descent follows the ascent route, with the forest roads hardly allowing shortcuts. The sometimes cleared road from the Zinkenbach valley must be pushed up.
