Ascent: on the forest road up to Lago Erdemolo, then at the hairpin turn junction follow the signposts to Passo Palù (left). After a few hundred meters, the summer path no. 370 branches right: follow it up to the upper vegetation limit (1900 m), then continue along the valley floor; go left around a rocky bastion and later cross Passo Palù (2072 m). From the fork, follow the ridge to Passo dei Garofani, and with a last, more exposed section, reach the summit. Descent: Follow the last meters of the ascent to Passo dei Garofani. Instead of descending directly south (windward slope often affected by wind accumulations), head west towards M. Stanga. This leads to a saddle granting access to a less steep and generally safe slope: from here, it continues along the sunny slopes descending into Val del Laner, with the possibility of a short detour to Rif. sette Selle. For the lower part of the descent, see ascent route no. 4 (summer route no. 4).
