A tough climb, with an average gradient of 9%, starting from Preore, it's 9 km in which you overcome almost 800 meters in altitude.
Numbers that immediately tell us how to organize ourselves. It is a ride that does not allow you to catch your breath and which, on the contrary, puts your legs in crisis with three particularly demanding stretches.

Roadbook
Of course, you shouldn't get discouraged, you just need to go up at your own pace. The departure, from Preore, marks 530 meters on the altimeter, in the end it will be 1297. This is a very beautiful area of Trentino and it is worth regulating your energy to admire the landscape. They are the Giudicarie, surrounded by the mountain ranges of the Brenta and Adamello Dolomites, rich in itineraries for high-altitude excursions. Once on the saddle, you point the handlebars towards Montagne where the road begins to climb with stretches that even reach 12 percent. The commitment becomes harder after 4 kilometers when you enter the town of Larzana. For a stretch the road rises even more and reaches 14 percent. In the legs you can feel the effort that the riders of the Giro, 2015 edition, made in the stage that started from Marostica. Leaving the town, he catches his breath for a while, but then starts climbing again, with the last kilometer that seems to never end. The slope is always more than 10 percent. Capanna Durmont is the signal that the pass is approaching: the effort is over and leaves room for a wonderful panorama. If you decide to continue, the road leads to Spiazzo. Otherwise you go back down the same route, incredulous of having completed a similar climb.
