Roadbook
At the roundabout in Šmartno, take the exit for Imenje.
After a short descent continue uphill until you get to a crossroads where you go right and continue on a macadam road. At the next crossroads follow the road on the left to the roundabout in Gonjače and take the exit for Plave. A 2-km ride through the woods will lead you to Vrhovlje pri Kojskem where you continue the ride on the main road that goes into a short descent. At the crossroads, take a left towards Korada and keep right. A roughly 7-km ride follows which offers beautiful views of the Soča valley and the whole Brda region.
At the crossroads beneath the Korada hill, make a right turn. Here you can enjoy scenic views of Beneška Slovenija (Friulian Slavia), a territory across the border in Italy. Afterward, descend to the village of Lig, where you take a left turn at the crossroads. What follows is a steep descent through the villages of Lovišče and Strmec to the village of Britof. In Britof, turn left onto a gravel road and stay on this road for approximately 10 km. The road runs along the state border, passing through the village of Mišček right by the Idrija River, where you can cool off in one of its pools in summer heat, and leads you to the village of Golo Brdo.
In Golo Brdo, make a left turn and ride towards Dobrovo. Ride through Senik, Vrhovlje pri Kožbani and Kožbana. Afterward, a steep descent will take you to the Kožbanjšček stream and the village Pristavo followed by a hamlet called Peternel. Follow the main road towards Neblo and take a left at the crossroads towards Drnovk. Ride past a gas station to a roundabout. Take the second exit towards Vedrijan and keep right. When you get past Vedrijan, take a right at the crossroads and follow the first exit at the roundabout towards Dobrovo. What is left is the final descent paired with scenic views of Brda back to the starting point in Šmartno.
