Finally, once again a very difficult cycling ride over the Högl.

The highest point of the Högl is 827 m above sea level and is located near the Strobl Alm excursion inn.

On the Högl, a mountain in the Berchtesgadener Land, just a few kilometers from Salzburg, there is a namesake transmission tower of Deutsche Telekom. The 158-meter-high tower stands at an altitude of 780 meters and is thus the tallest structure in southeast Bavaria.

From the Högl, alongside German radio programs, Austrian programs are also broadcast, currently Radio Arabella. Unlike the Gaisberg, which is somewhat shielded in the city of Salzburg, the Högl is the best location for Salzburg, which is why Austrian DVB-T programs will soon also be broadcast from the Högl.

The most important German radio program broadcast from the Högl is Deutschlandfunk with 15 kW.

The Högl is accessible by many hiking trails from all surrounding communities, several churches and inns provide cultural and culinary variety. The Högl is also a popular destination among cyclists and mountain bikers.

From Bad Reichenhall it first goes via Piding, then the Höglstraße to Kleinhögl, at the path junction turn right at the chapel to Strobl Alm, from there it then goes to the transmission mast at 778 m. Afterwards follows a long but not unsafe descent to Anger, caution is advised due to oncoming traffic, shortly before Anger a narrow small field path goes right, it can be ridden but the surface is not very good beware road damage. Then it goes on the Vachenluegerstraße to Vachenlueg, from there after a very dangerous descent 14% gradient to the BGL 10, caution dangerous and non-visible junction to the BGL 10. Now it goes via Thundorf a bit further on the BGL 10, then it goes right via Rabling to Ulrichshögl, from there a small detour via Reiter Alm to Kohlstatt. Now comes a somewhat longer descent to Ainring then via Dorfstraße back to the BGL 10. Now it goes past the Ainring outdoor pool to the roundabout and from there to Mitterfelden, from there a bit along the cycle path along the B 20 to Feldkirchen then through the Saalach Au, in Hammerau it goes over the Wals Grünau border bridge. Afterwards it goes via the Austrian side to Großgmain. In Großgmain it goes then again over the border to Bayerisch Gmain and back to Bad Reichenhall
