The exit from Annecy is through Cran-Gevrier via the Gevrier bridge and the La Salle bridge. After crossing the Altaïs business park, the landscape becomes rural. You are in Chavanod and when you join the famous departmental road 16, known as "Route des Creuses", the town is already behind you. This road crosses several small shaded valleys with descents and ascents which give it its character. But you must remain vigilant, because the traffic is not negligible and speeds are often high. You will then arrive in Rumilly, whose old quarter is worth a visit, as it was said for the Circuit de l'Albanais n°11.
You will surely find a welcoming terrace in the streets of the old centre, before taking the road again for the most beautiful section of your circuit. The departmental road 31 follows the torrent of Fier in a flat part, before it plunges towards the Rhône through the gorges of Val-de-Fier. Just at the entrance of the Val, the crossing of the bridge of St-André is a photo point not to be missed!
The return is done by the RD14, without interruption until Poisy, before a diversion by the hamlet of Monod (short descent with a 180° hairpin bend). Finally, take the cycle path that runs alongside the expressway to Note that by passing through Nonglard, you will find a common route with the return of the Tour de la Montagne d'Age n°5. If you feel like it, by a beautiful descent (140 m of difference in height) and thus a beautiful ascent (4 km A/R), you can extend the hike to the prestigious sites of the castle of Montrottier and the Gorges du Fier, either on the way out from Chavanod, or on the way back from Lovagny.
