Via Francigena: Lausanne - Vevey

This stage takes us from Lausanne, the capital of the canton of Vaud, along Lake Geneva to Vevey. Along the way, we partly walk directly along the lakeshore and partly through the vineyards of the wine-growing region «Lavaux», known for its good wines. No wonder we recognize one or another place name, we have probably already seen it on a wine bottle.
The path is marked from Epesses as the «Alpine Panorama Route», an explanation for this naming will become clear. Later we will also find the «Via Francigena» signposting.
At the stage location Vevey, a statue reminds us of the famous artist Charlie Chaplin, and the food company Nestlé is the founder of the «Museum of Nutrition».
