Taste Trails | San Vili Path
A Taste Trail that will take you from the Brenta Dolomites to the city of Trento, along the San Vili Path (along the so-called "lower route") also stopping at members of the Wine and Flavours Road of Trentino.
A route that will take you to discover the scenic beauties combined with gastronomic excellences.
The products not to be missed on this Taste Trail are the Spressa delle Giudicarie DOP, the Ciuìga del Banale, the nosiola, Vino Santo, Trentino grappa and Trentodoc sparkling wine.

Where to sleep
Along the San Vili Path (along the lower trail) there are no accommodations associated with the Wine and Flavours Road of Trentino.
By clicking here you will find a list of the accommodations affiliated with the Trail; some operate in areas with strong tourist seasonality, so it is advisable to contact them in advance to check availability, especially in the periods March/May and September/November.
If you follow the upper trail instead, you can stay at our member Hotel Lillà, a facility immersed in greenery and attentive to local products.
The return
You can organize your return journey in several ways: 1. retrace on foot the route taken on the way there 2. if you are in a group you can organize with two cars, leaving one at the starting point and one at the arrival point 3. return by public transport, thus by bus (trentinotrasporti.it)

Before leaving, don't forget to check the trail conditions by contacting the tourist offices of APT Madonna di Campiglio, APT Garda Dolomiti and APT Trento, Monte Bondone, Valle dei Laghi. The mountain is unpredictable ;)Also remember to check if the trail is snow-covered or not.

Stage 1: Madonna di Campiglio - Caderzone Terme/Bocenago

Are you ready for this new adventure focused on nature, traditions, and gastronomy? Today the route takes you from Madonna di Campiglio to Caderzone Terme, crossing the splendid Val Rendena. Along the way, you can meet Rendena cows, whose milk is used to produce the famous Spressa delle Giudicarie.
Taste stop:
Passing through Val Rendena, don't miss the chance to taste Spressa delle Giudicarie DOP from Latte Trento and the craft beer of Pinzolo, produced by Birrificio Val Rendena.

Stage 2: Caderzone Terme/Bocenago - Saone

Today the San Vili Trail takes you from the forests of Val Rendena to those of Giudicarie, along a route featuring uphill and downhill stretches. For the energy needed, we recommend a good 100% Trentino picnic offered by one of our salumerias ;)
Taste stop:
Buy your picnic proposal at Salumificio Val Rendena or Brenta Salumi and then stop along the route to taste the products.

Stage 3: Saone - San Lorenzo in Banale

Good morning! Today's program leads you from the Giudicarie Valleys to the southeastern foothills of the Brenta Dolomites: in San Lorenzo Dorsino, the "home" of a famous Trentino salami: the Ciuìga del Banale.
Cultural stop:
During today's route you can also visit the municipality of Stenico, characterized by the famous castle of the same name, as well as Bosco Arte Stenico.

Arriving in San Lorenzo conclude your day with a baked product based on Ciuìga: Panificio Zambanini awaits you with its special savory pie

Stage 4: San Lorenzo in Banale - Monte Terlago/Vallene

Are you ready to discover another valley of Trentino? The romantic Valle dei Laghi awaits! Today you will indeed pass from the splendid Brenta Dolomites to the lakes of Toblino and Santa Massenza, passing through the area characterized by the production of the only Trentino white berry grape variety: Nosiola, which is used to produce the quintessential passito wine: Vino Santo.
Taste stop 1:
Don't miss a stop at a winery and/or distillery in Santa Massenza! In this small village, characterized by the presence of numerous distilleries and a winery, several establishments await you: Azienda Agricola Francesco Poli, Azienda Agricola Giovanni Poli, Azienda Agricola Distilleria Casimiro, Maxentia.
Taste stop 2:
If you want to end the day wonderfully, or rather "deliciously", we recommend an aperitif or a tasty Trentino dinner at the ancient Osteria Cà dei Giosi in Covelo di Vallelaghi.

Stage 5: Monte Terlago/Vallene - Trento

Are you ready for the final sprint? The Trail is nearing completion :) Today the path takes you from Monte Terlago to the city of Trento, home to the Cathedral of San Vigilio, an unmissable stop on your journey. A day between nature and history awaits you!
Taste stop:
Upon arrival in Trento, a remarkable place of Trentodoc classic method sparkling wine, we recommend a stop at Bar Pasi, Panificio Moderno or Locanda le due travi, where you can taste mountain bubbles paired with excellent local gastronomic products and celebrate the end of this beautiful experience among nature, culture and gastronomy.
