St. Rupert Route: Strobl - Postalm
Pilgerwege Österreich
Today's stage is not very long at less than 13 kilometers, but it will take us up to 1170 m above sea level, and we will ascend almost continuously, with a total climb of about 660 vertical meters. However, we will neither starve nor thirst, as there is an inn at the Kleefeld wildlife park and the Bergheimat snack station.
Our stage destination lies on the high plateau of the Postalm nature reserve, one of the largest alpine pasture areas in Central Europe. At the end, we hike along the alpine flower trail, passing the Schnitzhofalm, Welser Hut, and Blonde Hut before reaching the Postalm, where there is also a tourist information center - good, since pilgrims are also tourists.
