RSLV01 - Valka > Turna

This is the first stage of St James Way and Romea Strata on the territory of Latvia. It starts in Valka/Valga, a scenic town on the Latvia-Estonia border and takes you along country roads, lanes and gravel paths through vast areas of primeval and traditional landscapes of the temperate forest zone of North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve. Enjoy the Burga meadows and the rich variety of bird population. The stage is not long, so it is good to start by a ramble through the town shared by two countries, as well as to take a dip in the lake on its outskirts.

Šis ir pirmais Sv. Jēkaba ceļa un Romea Strata etaps Latvijas teritorijā. Tas sākas ainaviskajā Valkas/ Valgas pilsētā uz Latvijas-Igaunijas robežas un ved pa grants ceļiem cauri Ziemeļvidzemes biosfēras rezervāta mērenā klimata mežiem un tradicionālajām lauku ainavām, Burgas pļavās jums ir iespēja vērot putnu daudzveidību un baudīt to skanīgās balsis. Etaps nav garš, tādēļ iesakām sākt ar pilsētas apskati un izbaudīt ezera peldi netālu aiz tās robežām.
