Roadbook
The hike starts at the bus stop Sundlauenen-Dorf, first follows along the lake, crosses road 221 (Seestraße), and then climbs to the Beatus Caves. These can be visited for an entrance fee.
It then continues always following the sign No. 4 (Via Jacobi), passing a quarry, crossing the cog railway from Beatenbucht to Beatenberg (where you can transfer to Niederhorn), and finally reaches the hamlet of Merligen, which is crossed. Then it continues towards Gunten, where you descend towards the lake. Along the lake road to a small parking lot by the lake.
