Marsberg Monastery Route II.1

From Bredelar Monastery, head towards Padberg, go up the Orthelle to the left behind the railway. Then keep right towards Beringhofen. At the intersection, do not go straight ahead towards Beringhofen, but take the path to the left next to it and follow the sign "Mining traces" or the path "P 1". At the rest area "Grube Reinhard" the Diemel is crossed heading south on the footbridge. After passing the rest area, follow the "Forest route" to the left towards Giershagen, then reach road 870, turn left towards Bredelar and immediately afterwards turn right to the Klus church. The path continues along the Klusweg past the wading pool to Giershagen. There, go along Papenstraße, turn right onto "Zur Heide" and continue straight on "Zur alten Wiese". At the intersection at the town exit, turn left "Hinterm Hagen" and immediately right again onto Adorfer Weg (county road). The hiking trail X 16 runs along the county road until it turns left onto "Auf dem Webbel" street. Follow the X 16 hiking trail straight ahead. It then later turns right and crosses the county road. Here the path is called "Auf dem Martenberg" and is also marked as "Diemelsteig". Behind the farmstead, turn left. Continue straight ahead to Adorf, even if the Diemelsteig temporarily turns right.

At the children’s playground, follow the footpath going diagonally down to Arolser Straße (main road). Walk along this road until the sharp right curve. There, turn left into "Kattwinkel" street and follow the hiking trail X 1 (Sternweg), also marked as Diemelsteig, towards Wirmighausen. After some time, the hiking trail X 1 leaves the main Diemelsteig route to the left and leads to Wirmighausen. There continue to follow X 1, also labelled "W 1". This hiking trail turns left shortly after Wirmighausen and is then marked as X 1 or W 1 until Flechtdorf.
