Heidenheimer Brenzregion
On this "pilgrimage path en miniature" in Giengen Hürben, one mentally follows the fascinating great European pilgrimage route.
Opposite the famous Charlottenhöhle is the Jakobswegle around the Kagberg, inviting you to a special hiking experience. It represents the route from Giengen to Santiago de Compostela at a scale of 1:1000 over 2.5 kilometers. The entire circular path around the Kagberg measures 4.2 km. The beginning and end of the Jakobswegle are rounded off by a 1.7 km long trail that lies on the original Jakobsweg. This connection informs the hiker or pilgrim about Saint James and the history of the Jakobsweg. The path is partly asphalted and accessible to everyone. Step by step, we mentally follow the fascinating great European pilgrimage route. Four resting places and the “Cruz de Ferro” on the Jakobswegle invite you to contemplation and meditation.

Roadbook
From the parking lot at the Cave House of the Cave Adventure World Giengen-Hürben near the Charlottenhöhle, we turn off the road towards the opposite Kagberg. Over a small bridge and a meadow, we reach the gravel and partly asphalted path in town that leads around the Kagberg. We turn left. Our path is accompanied by a brown scallop shell, and at regular intervals, we can first learn about Saint James and then mentally retrace the 2500 kilometers from Hürben to Santiago de Compostela. Once we leave the village of Hürben, the actual 2.5-kilometer-long "pilgrimage path en miniature" begins. We always keep to the forest edge and circle the Kagberg until we return to the starting point.
Our tip:
Bring a worry or wish stone and your pilgrim passport. There is a pilgrim stamp available at the Cave House. Also, allow some time, as Charlottenhöhle, Cave House, and the Experience Museum "Fascination Cave - Man - Nature" provide exciting insights into the past of this mysterious region in the Swabian Alb Geopark.
