Elisabeth path: Waldkappel - Spangenberg
Pilgerwege Deutschland
While on the preliminary stage we still accompanied a number of streams in the valley floor, today we will cross the "Franzosenstrasse", a medieval road in Waldhessen, and also cross a watershed. While the waters at the beginning of the stage still flow into the Wehre and then into the Werra, in the second part of the stage we will hike along the Pfieffe, which later flows into the Fulda. However, this is not a continental watershed, because the Werra and the Fulda will reunite after long, separate paths in "Hannoversch Münden" and then flow as the Weser via Bremen and Bremerhaven into the Helgoland Bight of the North Sea.
After this "mountain hike", our stage will end in Spangenberg in front of the Johannes Church.
