The Canavese Oropa Way, 85 km in 5 stages, connects the Canavese area with Biellese, crossing unique landscapes of naturalistic and cultural interest.
Compared to the Serra Oropa Way, which connects Santhià to Oropa, the Canavese Way is longer (85 km in 5 stages) and more challenging due to its length, elevation changes, and lack of water and food supply points along the route. It is an itinerary recommended for walkers with some experience in stage walks and for those who have already completed the Santhià-Oropa route. The Way touches 3 UNESCO sites: the Sacred Mountain of Belmonte, Ivrea 20th-century industrial city, and the Sacred Mountain of Oropa; it is divided into five stages: From Valperga to Cuorgnè, From Cuorgnè to Vidracco, From Vidracco to Ivrea, From Ivrea to the Sanctuary of Graglia, and then to the Sanctuary of Oropa.
The itinerary is also available on the SlowBI app. In winter months, some sections of the route may present safety issues due to snow and ice. Check route conditions before starting, from the accommodation facilities.
