Camino Francés. Stage 3. Zubiri - Pamplona
Viando
Here is shown the Camino Francés between the Navarrese towns of Zubiri and Pamplona (in Basque, Iruña) along the historic route, instead of along the riverside walk of the Arga River.
In the first part of this short stage with little elevation change, the Arga River will accompany us along paths among pines and beeches. Of special relevance is the ensemble formed by the bridge and the Basilica of the Trinity of Arre, from where two alternatives arise to reach Pamplona: the official route shown here, along the sidewalks of the urban centers of Villava (Atarrabia) and Burlada (Burlata), or its variant, the riverside walk of the Arga River: pleasant and shaded up to the Magdalena Bridge, where it joins the official route. At the end of the stage, Pamplona welcomes us: a town famous for its Sanfermines. Near the Plaza del Castillo and the streets San Nicolás, San Gregorio, Estafeta, and Navarrería are the best-known places to go for "pintxos" and enjoy Basque-Navarrese cuisine.
