We start at the train station and head downhill to the left towards Rabenschwand. First, we go straight for a bit, then right towards Haslach. In Haslach, turn left onto a cart path for about 800m and then left again on a cart path past the forest to Höhenroith. Shortly thereafter, we take the field path where after the right turn we go uphill to the forest. After the forest, we reach a farm, pass it on the left and after a few minutes arrive at the "Hager Chapel." It is worth reading the history here and taking a rest. There is also a pilgrim stamp. At the Hager Chapel, we definitely leave Upper Austria and enter Salzburg. After the chapel, we go downhill to the hamlet of Lengroid and continue to Pfongau. In Pfongau, before the church, we turn left, cross the stream and soon reach Wertheim. At the end of the village, the path goes down towards Neufarn, we cross the stream and reach Haslach. We pass Haslach but stay on the road to the right and continue to the church of Neufarn. We pass the church and follow the Camino signs towards Matzing and then descend to the Wallersee. We follow the shore of the lake on a cart path, for a short time slightly away from the lake, then descend again to the path along the lake which we follow for a long stretch until we take the road on the left away from the lake towards Enzing. We leave Enzing turning right, cross a stream, and go down to the lake again towards the Henndorf beach. Before the beach, we continue left along the lake until we turn left to Camping Fenninger Spitz. We stay on the path, go right to Henndorferstrasse and continue to the Fischtaging/Henndorferstrasse intersection. Going left downhill, we pass a small forest; at the second section of forest, we take the road to Unterhaging and soon reach the Wiener Bundesstrasse. We walk parallel to the highway on the old Wiener Strasse heading right and pass by the Gasttagwirt inn. On Santnerweg, we then go left to the church in Eugendorf, our destination for today. Good accommodation options are available.
Note(s)
Basically, we follow the official signage of the Austrian Camino. Good accommodation options are available in all places along the way. The length of each stage can be designed by the pilgrim according to their own needs. These notes apply to all stages.
The pilgrimage route from Purkersdorf west of Vienna to Lofer/Waidring is called "Austrian Camino", from there we will continue westward on the "Tyrolean Camino".
