We walk from the beautiful town of Marlow into the romantic Recknitztal. This pleasure route surprises us with a highlight at the turning point.

We walk right into Buchenweg. This leads into Stralsunder Straße, which we follow uphill to the right. We turn left into Alte Burgstraße. When this bends right, we continue straight on a path leading us out of the town. We follow the path as it goes left downhill. At the soon following junction, we keep right. The concrete slab path leads us very nicely through the Recknitztal, extensive grazing pastures stretch towards the river. Shortly after a forest begins on the right side of the path, we see a marker stone of the "Tour der Steine" on the right. At this point, we follow the path leading right into the forest. At the next junction in this lovely woodland, we go straight on; at the T-junction at the edge of the forest, we turn left. At the next two forks, we choose the right option each time. The path leads us along the edge of the forest and then turns left. Soon a path branches off left to the well-recognizable castle rampart. Here, between the 9th and 11th centuries, a Slavic castle once stood. This place belonged to the hideouts of the legendary pirate captain Klaus Störtebeker. At the foot of the castle rampart, a nice rest area invites you to take a break. After viewing the remains of the castle site, we return to the path along the forest edge and follow it to the left. When it meets the familiar concrete slab path, we see a further rest area and an informational board about the castle rampart site. We follow the concrete slab path left towards Marlow and then walk back over Stralsunder Straße and Buchenweg to the starting point.
