The start of the running route is located above the Hapimag complex at the end of Jakobusstraße and is marked by a large route information board about Nordic Walking. The running track is identical with the signposted DSV Nordic Activity route and initially runs slightly downhill on the here asphalted Rothaarsteig. After about 1 km, together with the Rothaarsteig, we turn half left and are now in hilly terrain on natural but well-developed paths. We follow the signage of the Nordic Activity route and reach the Ruhrquelle after another kilometer. On a scenically beautiful section, we now enjoy the run to the lowest point of the route. After having run half of the entire distance, it now goes steadily uphill. We first keep left and thus leave the Ruhr Valley cycle path. On the now longer ascending section, we run a bit slower and manage our energy well. We run without too much effort through the now denser forest and turn right after 4 km following the markings. Further through the forest, we soon reach an open meadow area with a view again. The destination soon comes into our field of vision, which was also our starting point.
