    Tips and suggestions

The Asitz summit mountain run, which is part of the Austrian Mountain Running Cup, has become a fixed part of the local running calendar. Every year, the country's mountain running elite meets for this major sporting event organized by the Leogang Sports Club. With a length of just under 8 km and an elevation difference of over 1100 meters, the Asitz summit run pushes athletes to their limits. Unique in its course with steep inclines up to 38%, participants climb the Leogang local mountain on lonely forest and mountain trails. Suddenly, the setting changes from the solitude of nature to the modern world – the facilities of the Leogang ski area. Finally, a summit awaits to be conquered, where athletes must mobilize their last reserves of strength. For comparison, for everyone who wants to measure themselves against the best of the best: the course record is just under 50 minutes!

Note: The mountain run is signposted from the start near the swimming pool, but the official race start is about 250m away at the Leogang secondary school.
