Safety information
Especially in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You must expect path impairments of this kind when hiking. If you find certain sections impassable, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery passages.
Tips and suggestions
As a general basis, we recommend the hiking map "Hauenstein & Trifelsland" (Pietruska Verlag) with a scale of 1:25,000Roadbook
From the starting point in the Kurpark at the information board near the Umoya Restaurant, we head towards the town of Annweiler am Trifels. From there, we walk along Burgstraße and then turn left onto Hauptstraße. Now we turn right and pass through the historic old town of Annweiler. We cross Saarlandstraße and Bahnhofstraße, which leads us to Turner-Weg. We now follow this. After the left curve of Turnerweg, we leave the path and turn right towards Annweiler. At Nordringstraße, we turn right into Hinter Winkel and at the fork in the road take the path to our left. Now we follow the path around Mittelberg towards Gräfenhausen. Upon reaching Gräfenhausen, we follow Hohlstraße, keep left of the church and turn left into Im Semmerstal street and then immediately left again. This path leads us to the Turnerjugendheim. We continue and, at the height of the cemetery, head towards Annweiler, then turn left once more to return to our starting point.
