Via the Magdeburger Hut to the distinctive Dolomite peak. When looking into the Pflersch valley, what especially impresses is the mountain range rising above the last farms. It consists of a whole series of mountain peaks - some dark and glaciated, others bright Dolomite shapes. And right in the middle proudly stands the Weißwandspitze.
Approach from Gossensaß into St. Anton in Hinterpflersch, turn left from the valley road and then on the shady side (orographically right) on a narrow road into the valley to a small parking lot near the waterfall “in der Hölle” (approx. 1465 m). From there, follow the signs “Magdeburger Hut” first over a bridge across the valley brook and soon after on the old hut path marked 6, mostly through open terrain with grassy slopes and rock sections, initially gently and then more steeply ascending to the Magdeburger Hut (2423 m; also called Schneespitzhütte on maps, summer operation; 80 beds); about 2:30 hours from the parking lot – Further route to the Weißwandspitze: From the junction a few steps below the hut on trail 7, first nearly level crossing grassy slopes interspersed with rocks in slight ups and downs (there are some aids at rocky places) eastwards to a mountain basin, then steep hairpin turns on the rock- and stone-strewn slope (also equipped with some safety aids and steps
