Follow the path from Klimm to the Großkar towards the Klimmspitze and then find the best route off-trail as an expert and alpine mountaineer. A GPS recording was deliberately omitted.
My walking time was 7 hours and 1600 meters of elevation gain and loss.
From Klimm, we follow the ascent path to the better-developed Klimmspitze steeply uphill through a belt of dwarf pines, where in summer on the south side the heat can become oppressive without wind. In the Großkar, we leave the hiking trail and rely on our sense of orientation in mostly dangerous terrain without a path, as well as sure-footedness and tour planning.
We head towards a dark rock ridge in the cirque. From a distance hardly passable until you discover a small broken ramp. We climb over this scree and rock terrain. A vertical drop below would not forgive a misstep. Higher up on the southern ridge, solitary stone cairns can be seen between rock blocks. But everyone must find the best way themselves. The ascent over the west flank includes short scrambling sections and is characterized by the need for perfect surefootedness in this crumbly scree terrain. A pile of stones at the summit shows us that there are other visitors besides us on this lonely peak.
