Although the route to Wannenspitze is no longer a secret tip, it is far from overcrowded and peace-seeking hikers can approach the mountain in the Lechtal Alps with confidence. The great view comes after effort; the ascent is very steep, rising nearly 1,300 meters in elevation. At first, it goes for a long time through the forest, then at the foot of the Wannenspitze we reach green meadows with colorful alpine flora. Then it gets rocky. The broad and angular Wannenspitze lies before us and primarily demands sure-footedness. The short climbing sections are not very difficult, but the narrow paths lead over loose scree and are very steep. You are then rewarded at the summit cross with wide and deep views of the Allgäu Alps and the Lech Valley. After descending, a stop at the Grießbachalm allows you to enjoy the view of the just-climbed peaks with a snack.
