A genuine three-thousander with glacier views. The Vordere Rotspitze at the end of the Martell Valley is considered a panoramic summit in front of the mountain range between Cevedale, Veneziaspitze, and Hintere Rotspitze.
The route starts at the large parking lot at the end of the Martell Valley. Follow the road past the former Hotel 'Paradiso,' where shortly after a bridge, trail no. 31 branches off to the right. The path initially ascends in a nearly straight line through sparse larch forest. At a fork below the peak structure, turn left and climb steep scree fields. The last 100 meters of elevation are quite steep, with the trail to the summit running through a gully secured with a steel cable. Descent via the same route or see alternative.
