Varied route with overnight stays in special huts and along lakes and glaciers and two summit climbs around 3000 meters.
This route runs through the eastern part of the Verwall. Many aspects of mountain hiking will be encountered during this route: walking over blocks, snowfields and scree slopes.
Generally, we will follow well-marked paths that run over alpine meadows, boulders, and snowfields. However, here and there, hands will be needed in places secured with steel cables. On the snowfields we cross, everyone can practice moving on snow and falling and braking in snow.
It is possible to climb peaks at various times: including the Geissspitz (2779 m), the Scheibler (2978 m), and as a full-day route the Hoher Riffler (3168 m). Among other things, we have a view of the peaks of the higher Silvretta group and the Patteriol, the leading mountain in the Verwall.
The walking times are reasonable. The variety of huts is large: from classic mountain huts overlooking glaciers and modern huts catering to many day visitors to a fairly new but very beautifully situated hut, in the middle of a pine forest.
Note: This route has in the past been published by the NKBV. Because of possible changing conditions you are always responsible yourself for checking the current route conditions. Get information from the local tourist office or experts of the region, so you can go safely and prepared on your way.
