Val Nardis - La Via delle Valli
A steep and little frequented valley immersed in lush and wild nature, isolated but easily reachable, Val Nardis is one of the access points to Presanella.
From here you access the narrow and little frequented Val Nardis (trail marker 210), once traveled by shepherds and livestock who used to graze at the pastures of Malga Nardis and the higher Malga dei Fiori.
During the Great War, the hut area was involved in military positions and when, in 1916, the cableway was built that from the Carisolo glassworks reached Monte del Tamalè (essential for supplies and for transporting the first artillery pieces destined for Passo Scarazon delle Rocchette), the transport of supplies was also entrusted to Russian porters and prisoners housed at Malga Nardis and near the cableway arrival station. The Val Nardis cableway continued its precious work throughout the conflict.

Safety information
The trail is little traveled but well marked (SAT signage) and clean. Only near Malga Nardis is the grass particularly thick but the signs are always clearly visible. The trail up to Malga Nardis is very steep and reception is almost always absent except for the initial part and near the hut, where the signal is intermittent. In wet conditions, the trail can be slippery and muddy.

Roadbook
Right behind the small house housing the park information point, the trail starts with the sign Malga Nardis (Trail Marker 210).
Although little traveled, the trail is always visible and well marked. It is a steep path that climbs steadily and consistently from the valley floor crossing beech forests and then firs and larches, up to the former pasture of Malga Nardis.
Shortly beyond the halfway point of the trail leading to Malga Nardis, you will find a small plateau with a table and two benches. Here you must take the right at the fork, not towards the river, climbing the last part on a steep trail just before the meadow with the mountain hut. After crossing a wooden footbridge and a small gate, the trail becomes gentler until the hut, the destination of our route.
If you want to continue, the trail leads, still uphill, to Malga dei Fiori, to Bivacco Roberti and to the summit of Presanella. From Bivacco Roberti, the trail is recommended only for experienced climbers.
Stamp: the stamp is affixed on the wall of Malga Nardis.
