Crossing one of Tirol's most beautiful viewpoint mountains (T3).
Anyone driving on the Inntal motorway towards Innsbruck will inevitably notice the Tschirgant. The distinctive freestanding pyramid divides the Oberinntal from the Gurgltal. The steep western flank, which is visible to drivers, measures 1650 meters in height! To the east, the Tschirgant tapers off less spectacularly into a long green ridge. The summit view rightfully ranks as one of the most beautiful in Tirol, because due to its isolated location at the junction of the Inntal, Pitztal, Ötztal, and Gurgltal valleys, you get an incredible panoramic view. The mountain is not given to you, you almost have to earn it from the valley floor. The highest parking lot is at 1030 m above the village of Karrösten. A varied, though long, circular route can be done by combining the ascent via the Karröster Alpe with a descent over the Karrer Alm. Adventurous hikers can shorten the long path to the Karröster Alm via an old wooden path, although the trail is sometimes difficult to find.
