Tschigat

From Mitterplars near Algund (464 m) by chairlift or car to Vellau and further up by gondola to Leiteralm (1522 m). From there on foot on trail 24 for about 20 minutes uphill through the forest, then crossing the forest slopes westwards over to Hochganghaus (1839 m; summer operation); from Leiteralm 1:30 hrs – From the hut on path 7 first briefly through forest, then over steep grassy slopes and finally in steep rock (exposed but secured with chains) straight up to Hochgang (2455 m, about 1:30 hrs), beyond on path 7 level and gently rising northwards to the fork (about 2460 m), left on path 7 further to the Milchseen (2540 m), there left off, following the dotted marking past the western lake and over lots of boulder terrain with increasing steepness up to the rocks (about 2800 m); now partly over them in easy to moderately difficult climbing (I – II) first left of the gully and later up it and finally either following the marking in the gully further to the summit notch and shortly
