Many paths lead to Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav (literally "three heads"). The routes from the south are so long that they can only be done as 2- or even 3-day routes with hut overnight stays. From the north, the highest mountain of Slovenia can also be conquered in one day, provided you can ascend and descend about 2000 meters in altitude. From the mountain hut Aljaž Lodge in the Vrata Valley there are three roughly equally long but differently difficult routes: The most challenging is the Bamberg route (also called čez Plemenice) via the Plemenice ridge. It is a mixture of via ferrata in the B/C range, unsecured climbing sections of grade I and II, and exposed hiking terrain. The medium route, Tominškova Pot, is a somewhat easier via ferrata with difficulties in the A/B range and a C section.
