Alm, lake and summit tour near St. Nikolaus
From St. Nikolaus in Ulten or from the valley road below the village (1266 m) always following trail mark 18, partly on the old alpine path, which cuts off the path, on the orographic right slopes of the Auerberg valley through beautiful coniferous forests up to the Auerbergalm (1644 m; snack station); from St. Nikolaus approx. 1:30 hrs. Now take the good, but in places steep path, which bypasses the steep step with the waterfall on the left, up to the forest boundary, briefly via the Seefeldalm to the Seefeldsee (2168 m; from the Auerbergalm a good 1 hour) and on the mountain trail marked with No. 19 via the east-facing slopes, which is largely medium-steep, in another hour to the summit of the Ilmspitze (2656 m). The descent is best done via the described ascent route in approx. 2:30 hours.
