Tiergartenspitze

From Hinterkirch in the Langtaufer valley (1850 m; the Maseben chairlift currently – 2016 – out of service) on path 19A and later 19 on the south-facing forest slope, partly moderate, partly steeper ascent up to the tree line and to the Maseben mountain hut (formerly "Atlantis of the Mountains") in the pasture area of the Alm of the same name (2267 m; the mountain inn is open in summer and winter; about 1½ hours from the starting point). Here follow the signpost "Tiergarten" and continue following marker 19 westwards, near the ski lift, over rocky grassy terrain and then over a grassy old moraine wall upwards, then on the west-facing grassy slope and over block rubble straight up to a shallow saddle (possibly a short detour to the Schwarzkopf, 3002 m, on the right) and on the well-marked mountain trail up the steep block rubble slope to the summit of the Tiergartenspitze with the cross (3068 m; about 2½ hours from the Maseben mountain hut). – The descent is via the ascent path (total
