A beautiful circular route where the Pfeishütte serves as a base and something for every hiker is included. The round leads over 3 wonderful passes with a magnificent view into the respective valleys. The beautifully located idyllic Thaureralm serves as a place to rest before continuing over the next pass. At the end of the natural Hall Valley, the Stempeljoch still awaits, which marks the transition back to the Pfeis.
Author’s recommendation
Those who still have enough strength should not miss the old mansions of the former salt mine and should take a detour down into the Hall Valley.

We start directly on the terrace of the Pfeishütte and initially follow the wide feeder path to the east. After just a few meters, path 221 branches off from the road, and we follow the signposts until our first stage destination, the Kreuzjöchl, is reached. A magnificent view into the Inn Valley and its side valleys makes our hearts beat faster. Now we have reached the southern side of the Nordkette and follow the small path eastward, over short gravel sections, directly to the Thaureralm. If you feel like it, you can still take another summit cross shortly before the alm, that of the Thaurer Roßkopf, before settling comfortably on the terrace of the Thaureralm. From here, our further route to the Törl is already clearly visible. Well strengthened, the feet almost run by themselves and bring us over the wide meadow hollow directly to the Torsattel (Törl), another day's goal of our route. Deep below in the Hall Valley are the mansions of the former salt mining. We continue on the small path towards the north, deeper and deeper into the Hall Valley. We cross two large gravel torrents until we stand at the foot of the Stempeljoch. Above us tower the big and small Lafatscher, the Roßkopf, and somewhat east the Speckkarspitze. At a moderate pace, we tackle the 300m ascent to the Stempeljoch. At the most difficult points, secured with wire ropes, the path—affected by constant slope movements—leads directly onto the Stempeljoch. We look back once again, soak in the uniqueness of the Karwendel, and then proceed the last 30 minutes on the wide path always downhill to the west, to our base at the Pfeishütte in the Karwendel.
