Take the Untersberg cable car to the mountain station. Descend on route 417 via the Salzburger Hochthron and continue to the Mittagsscharte. Here, follow the Thomas-Eder-Steig (route 463) downhill to the left and along the cable protection over stairs and through tunnels to the Schellenberger Ice Cave. Continue to the serviced Toni-Lenz Hut and shortly afterwards, the narrow route 462 branches off to the left.
