The Teysachaux near Les Paccots is a “Vanil,” a craggy peak in Patois. A challenging circular route from Les Rosalys (T3) leads via the Chaletbeizli Incrota, the Alp Tremetta, and over the ridge to the final ascent. The view over Lake Geneva and the Vivisbach basin is never more beautiful than in the autumn light. On the way back, you stop at the Buvette Le Vuipay.

    Author’s recommendation

The panoramic view from the summit of Teysachaux is worth it: from Lake Geneva, over the Moléson, or the impressive Dent de Lys. There are also charming mountain huts on the route.

The starting point is the Les Rosalys bus stop. Now follow the signs towards Moléson. A little further up, you can take a break at the Chalet Incrota, known for its good local products. Then the route leads to Villard-Dessus, where the path turns right towards Tremetta. On the steeper section, follow the red and white signs along the stone path. After arriving at Alp Tremetta, you may already catch a first glimpse of the Teysachaux summit with its cross and other hikers who have already mastered the ascent. Here you must take a path over the ridge. The final section requires concentration. You have to overcome several small rocky sub-peaks connected by narrow passages, which however do not pose major difficulties. At the summit, you are offered an impressive view of the Vivisbach basin and Lake Geneva. In the first 30 minutes of the descent, you must be very careful where you step. Afterwards, you reach the simpler path to the Vuipay mountain hut. During a well-deserved break, you can quench your thirst, taste the meringues with double cream, and buy Ziger from the alp. Then you continue the descent through the pastures of Vuipey-d'en Bas. The view of the Dent de Lys is splendid and deserves a last look before heading back to Les Rosalys.
